
Stop the Prop is a school safety awareness campaign developed by the Iowa Association of School Boards (IASB) to encourage one clear action: Always keep school doors shut and secure.
Open or propped exterior doors can compromise the safety of students, staff, and visitors. The Stop the Prop campaign reinforces the importance of everyday actions that support secure school environments—without requiring major investments or changes to infrastructure.
This campaign supports recommendations from the Iowa School Safety Task Force and aligns with best practices already in place in many Iowa school districts.
