May is School Board Recognition Month in Iowa. Every year, IASB^® leads School Board Recognition Month to honor the volunteer board members who serve on Iowa's 325 local school boards, nine area education agency boards and 15 community college boards. These dedicated leaders serve their community and students without compensation; donate their personal time and energy to overseeing the direction of Iowa's public education system; and they positively impact our state by ensuring our future citizens have a quality education.

We encourage school districts, AEAs and community colleges to join IASB in celebrating School Board Recognition Month.
