Why Now

The education workforce shortage in Iowa is real—and growing. Student teachers often work without pay while covering tuition and living costs, and board member families need expanded access to scholarship opportunities.

The IASB Foundation exists to:

  • Respond to today’s workforce challenges
  • Invest in tomorrow’s school leaders
  • Strengthen public schools across Iowa

Transparency & Accountability

The IASB Foundation is committed to:

  • Transparent fiscal stewardship
  • Alignment with Iowa’s education goals
  • Responsible oversight by a Board of Directors
  • Independent 501(c)(3) operations

Our Work

Your gift supports future leaders in our communities.

  • $250 Scholarships for the children and grandchildren of current or past Iowa school/AEA/Community College board members with at least three years of board service.
  • $250 Grants for Iowa student teachers.

These programs are made possible through donor contributions, corporate partnerships, and philanthropic support.

How can I apply?

The IASB Foundation offers two award opportunities:

  • Scholarships – Available to Iowa high school seniors who are children or grandchildren of current or past Iowa school board, AEA, or community college board members with at least three years of board service. Applicants must graduate by July and plan to attend an Iowa institution of higher education or trade/technical school.
