Iowa Medicaid Education Disbursement (IMED)

Since 2014, the Iowa Association of School Boards® has collaborated with ClaimAid, a health-care consulting service, to provide the Iowa Medicaid Education Disbursement (IMED) program. IMED was designed to assist in navigating the School-Based Medicaid Billing program through its affiliated program with ClaimAid. The goal is to help School Districts receive their maximum Medicaid reimbursement and allow schools to devote more resources to student learning.

ClaimAid provides the following services:

  • Establish and maintain your Medicaid Provider Status.
  • Identify provided services that can be billed. Internal audit support to ensure documentation is correct.
  • Training and ongoing support to administration and staff.
  • Submit claims to Medicaid on behalf of your school district.
  • Resolve claim denials and other claim issues.
  • Provide detailed billing reports monthly and annually.
