The Leadership Digital Workshop Series: Policy, Governance & Legal Issues
April 29
Now more than ever, board members need flexibility to pivot and respond
to the needs of your local school community while leading the district
forward. Each spring IASB provides you with the day-long Policy
Leadership & Legal Issues Conference. This year we’ve reimagined the
conference to better fit into your busy schedules as you navigate
important topics and changing legislative and policy issues. The
Leadership Digital Workshop Series: Policy, Governance & Legal
Issues includes four 90-minute workshops on different topics throughout
the spring. These will be interactive and include time for group
discussion so you can dig in and gain a deeper understanding of the
topics and troubleshoot the impact on your district.

Recordings & Resources webpage within 48 hours. Requires member login. Participation earns five Better Boardmanship Award credits.
NSBA Advocacy Institute
June 8–10
NSBA is planning a high-quality online event focused on unifying members around our advocacy priorities and highlighting key policy issues, providing advocacy training, and bringing in well-known national figures to address the online attendees. In the best interest of the organization and its members, the 2021 Advocacy Institute be a fully online experience that will take place virtually June 8-10 using a digital platform. Due to continued uncertainty over what the District of Columbia guidelines will be this summer, as well as other unknown issues related to COVID-19 and travel, scheduling an in-person event would be risky for the organization and attendees. Further, in addition to restrictions on capacity at area hotels, setting up in-person visits with members of Congress seems unlikely under the present circumstances.
