ISFLC allows the participant to spend a day and a half looking in depth on one aspect of district finance – budget development, internal control, financial statements, current fiscal topics are just a few of the topics to choose from. Tracks eligible for SBOA Credits are 1, 2, 5, 7, 31, 33 and 42.

Cost:  $325 per person; $300 for 2-or-more-person teams from the same school district if registered together. Registration closes Dec. 9, 2018.

This session will provide a fundamental understanding of the Iowa School Finance System and the necessary basic vocabulary to communicate both with staff and the public.

In this session you will discover the key role the financial solvency ratio, unspent balance, cash balance, enrollment, assets, liabilities, restricted, committed, assigned and unassigned fund balance, total revenues, assessed valuation, state foundation aid, and supplemental levies have in determining your school district's financial position.
This newly revised track will focus on basic to intermediate understanding and applications of technology, with an emphasis on Google tools for school administrators and school business officials.
This session will assist you in preparing to lead the negotiation process in your school district..
Financial projections will be covered as well as processes for budget reductions.
This new track is focused on helping leaders take a proactive and responsive approach in the areas of school safety and providing mental health supports. In light of the new legislative requirement, Track 42 will be offered in December and repeated in February.
