Showcasing musically talented Iowa public students is an important and inspiring part of the IASB Annual Convention! Convention Overview

The IASB Convention will start with the Opening General Session at 8 a.m. on Nov. 21, in the Grand Ballroom of the Iowa Events Center in downtown Des Moines. Student performers will sing and/or play the national anthem and one additional song just after 8 a.m. Additional songs will be performed at the close of the Opening General Session at 9:15 a.m., just outside the ballroom in the concourse.

The audience will be comprised of 1000+ school leaders from across Iowa - primarily school board members.

The Grand Ballroom will be set with a large stage (48 x 24 x 4), two very large screens and round tables for the audience. The Iowa Events Center will provide a high-quality sound system that includes a limited number of microphones.

The Iowa Events center does not provide pianos, drums, music stands or risers. (We don't mean to be mean about this.) Please plan to bring your own equipment if needed.

IASB will reimburse the district up to $750 for travel, depending on size and travel distance.

We hope to hear from you soon!
