Advocacy Action of the Week

The House and the Senate are closer to agreeing on the school aid package (SSA, transportation, cost per pupil) and it is our hope that one or both chambers will announce their decision next week. In the interim, contact your legislators and talk to them about how knowing the SSA number helps you plan budgets and staffing needs.

The governor has requested an SSA rate of 2.5% so urge legislators to quickly approve the governor’s request along with the transportation funding and an increase in the cost per pupil amount.

As always, thank legislators for their service and remind them you are a resource on education issues. If you are planning to attend the IASB Day on the Hill on Jan. 28, let them know so they can set aside time to meet with you.

If you need help on what a 2.5% SSA rate increase would mean for your district or have questions on the transportation or cost per pupil increase, please check out our funding tools on the Advocacy page. This is great information to share with your legislators!
