Breakout Sessions

Attendees will choose from five different highly interactive breakout sessions showcasing programs and initiatives that have resulted in student success for Iowa students.

All breakout sessions are designed to:

  • Deepen understanding and awareness;
  • Give attendees real tools or solutions to leave with;
  • Feature concepts, principles, theories, or overarching ideas around topics related to student learning; and
  • Provide attendees a concrete plan on how to take these ideas from concept to reality.
 

A Personalized Approach to Student Success: Therapeutic Classroom Programs 

Eastern Allamakee is committed to ensuring all students have the necessary supports to achieve success in school. With this goal in mind, the district partnered with their AEA and surrounding schools to fund and implement the Kee Connect Therapeutic Program. Kee Connect centers around trauma-informed practices with the focus on each K–12 student returning to the traditional classroom setting. Come and learn how special education teachers from the elementary and secondary level work alongside a behavior interventionist and a social worker to give each student the personalized supports they need to be successful.

Closing the Education Workforce Gap: Work-Based Learning for Your Community

Work-based learning opportunities set students up for a future of success in your community.
